Adrian has over 25 years’ experience in journalism, broadcasting, PR and training.
After graduating from Lancaster University with a degree in Psychology, Adrian worked as a broadcast journalist, presenting 20+ hours of live radio programming every week for over ten years.
He became a Programme Director with the GWR Radio Group – then the largest operator of commercial radio services in the UK – where he trained and mentored journalists and broadcasters to deliver market-leading programming.
In 1997, he joined the largest employer in the music industry, PRS for Music, where he became Communications Director, responsible for PR, marketing and corporate communications activity for this £600m turnover operation.
Adrian delivered numerous successful media communications campaigns and defended the organisation through issues and crisis situations.
Throughout this time, Adrian was the organisation’s spokesperson, taking part in countless local and national TV and radio interviews (both proactively and reactively) ranging from GMTV to Radio 4 Today.
As a PR Academy trainer, he teaches to CIPR Diploma level and brings a unique perspective to media training from his experience over many years at both sides of the microphone. He has media trained a wide range of senior executives across the public, private and third sectors.
Adrian is also a senior lecturer for University of the Arts London College of Communication, and provides strategic communications advice for a range of clients via his own consultancy. He is a full member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
