In 2010 Apeiron Academy conducted the first PR competition for students up to 21 years of age. In the competition entered 25 young people from different Bulgarian cities. The award in the competition was a full scholarship for CIPR Foundation Award.
The contest was won by Mira Boneva, student in First Private English Language School "William Shakespeare", Sofia. Her essay impressed the jury of experts and communications specialists from Apeiron Communication and CIPR, with fresh ideas and appropriate communication tactics how to make a change.
Besides the scholarship contest, Apeiron realized an initiative called "A Day in the PR department of ..." in which the top 10 students that participated in the contest had the opportunity to become part of the communication team of Bulgarian and foreign companies, including Apeiron Communication, Mobiltel, BNP Paribas Personal Finance - Bulgaria, Bella Bulgaria, Deloitte, Danone Serdika, Active Group and the Ministry of Education, Youth and Science of Bulgaria.
Before going to their ‘working day’, the 10 students went through a short training in PR and communications, led by alumni of The Chartered Institute of Public Relations.
The reason behind this project
The essay competition "How would I present Bulgaria if I was a PR specialist?" and "A Day in the PR department ..." were part of the mission of Apeiron Academy to create different opportunities for young people for professional, social and personal development. "If I were a PR specialist ..." is just one of the many efforts we put into improving the communication skills of young people, their ability to present themselves, their social integration and career guidance.
